Explore Support and interventions

Structural interventions

Separate the immediate hemodynamic result of an intervention from the remodelled state.

Experiment: Normal adult at rest · unchanged from its starting state

Structural interventions

Intervention:

Relief of aortic stenosis (TAVI/SAVR)

Starting state: Aortic stenosis, severe (compensated). The gradient disappears immediately and LV systolic pressure falls to aortic levels; the stiff hypertrophied diastole persists until remodelling, so filling pressure improves less than the gradient.

Months later: regression of hypertrophy represented by lower passive stiffness and contractility returning toward normal (parameter set, not a time course).

Immediate versus remodelled response

Computing the three states…

Each column is a separate settled steady state of the same model; the remodelled column is an authored parameter set (no time course of remodelling is simulated). Whether an intervention helps is read from the specific starting state, not from a general rule: the same mitral repair can raise or lower forward output depending on ventricular reserve. Parameter changes shown here are not treatment recommendations.

Inspect beats and technical detailsbeat selection, transient versus settled, timings

Early beats after a change are transient: the circulation is still re-balancing. A beat is called settled when three consecutive windows agree within the tolerance. Playback speed only moves the cursor over the finished simulation; it never changes the heart rate.
